No matter how durable or well-constructed a tanning bed is, there are certain maintenance issues you will need to take care of over the course of the tanning bed's life
which require a
tanning bed repair technician. You may need to replace certain
tanning bed parts that are prone to wear and tear or that simply have a fixed life.
Tanning
bed replacement lamps are a perfect example of this. Depending on the amount of use the bed receives,
tanning bed bulbs will need to be replaced sooner or later. You can extend the life of your tanning bed and
bulbs by cleaning and replacing the
tanning bed acrylic according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
We offer a tanning bed repair "referral service" for
$40 where
we will trouble-shoot and repair your tanning bed via telephone
and send the necessary parts, technician, or point you in the
right direction. Please call Rick Houston at 800-760-6017 after paying the $40 fee via PayPal below.
You do not have to open a PayPal account and you can use any
major credit card to pay for this

Read More About Tanning Bed Acrylics Here:
Tanning bed "acrylics" are the clear or frosted plastic shields you lay down on
when indoor tanning in a sunbed.
Acrylics are also utilized in upright and vertical stand up tanning booths
to protect the lamps and customers from each other. Tanning
acrylics are generally clear but there is a "frosted"
acrylic produced by some tanning bed manufacturers which
give the tanning equipment a newer look.
Acrylics can be curved, contoured, or shaped to fit the bench or canopy of a tanning bed and can range in cost from $175 for a 20 minute bed to $1900 for some of the
most expensive
tanning beds like the ETS Sunscape 755 tanning bed pictured
below.

The
concept of frosted acrylic is an interesting one and
perhaps a great
differentiator if you are in a
competitive environment; however, they reduce lamp
effectiveness by 20-30% so keep that in mind when buying
replacement lamps. A very important maintenance fact: a
dirty acrylic can also reduce lamp efficiency by 20-50%, so plan to
clean the inside of your acrylics on a monthly schedule. The
results of cleaning your tanning bed acrylics can be tested with a UV
Light Meter which I strongly recommend. A UV light meter is the
most useful tool a salon owner can own...read more here
on the UV light meter page.
Tanning bed acrylics can be one of your most expensive maintenance items so be careful when buying new or used tanning beds. For instance, an acrylic for the bed pictured above can cost over $1500, however, the average tanning bed acrylic can cost around $250 to have shipped to your salon. Keep in mind, all states which are "regulated" and require health department inspections will check your acrylics carefully and shut a bed down with the smallest of cracks. Understand that a crack in an acrylic is the foundation for bacteria growth and is a hygiene concern. Stand up tanning booths, by the way, eliminate this hygiene issue, and for that reason is the best tanning device for gyms and fitness centers. This is the best place I have found to buy tanning bed acrylics online.

Acrylics: Tanning bed acrylics are wearable items which last from 1 to 3 years on average
depending how rough your clients are getting in and out of the beds. It is important to keep
your
acrylics clean and dust free to improve UV light transfer.
It has been proven that a dirty acrylic can reduce lamp effectiveness by as much as 10%.
Tanning bed acrylics can range in price from $150 for a home model like the Sunquest Pro or up to $2500 for the level four high pressure
tanning beds like the Sunboard and ETS Solarforce models. Make sure you
know where you can buy, and how much your acrylics cost, before you buy a
used tanning bed. Click

Ballasts: Every tanning bed built and shipped
in the US employs some sort of "ballast"
system to power
the tanning bed lamps. These ballasts can be "electronic", "choke",
or "magnetic" type depending on who made
the equipment and when. Most
tanning beds utilize a "choke" ballast system with "starters" igniting one lamp per ballast/starter although most home tanning beds use 1 ballast to drive two bulbs.

Buck Boosters: Tanning beds, unlike washers &
dryers, are a peculiar appliance in that
they truly need 230 volts applied for optimum
lamp output. To help regulate your salon's "true" 220 voltage, which can
range from 208 volts to 248 volts, you can install a device nicknamed
"buck-booster", because, depending on how you wire them, they either BUCK your
voltage DOWN from 248 volts, or BOOST your voltage UP from 208 volts, etc.
These devices are critical to the proper operation of your
tanning bed and many
manufacturers void your warranty if these are not installed. We offer for
sale new buck-boosters from $150-$225 and used buck boosters for sale from $75
to $125. Sizes range from .5 KVA to 2.0 KVA.
